Hotel Montagne, one of Sweden’s oldest hotels with roots dating back to 1862, continues to evolve its offering for active and conscious guests. As part of its commitment to sustainability and the joy of movement, the hotel has invested in Gympak’s sleek Equipment Boxes – a flexible training solution that makes it easy for guests to work out both indoors and outdoors.
The hotel, which reopened in 2023 after an extensive renovation, now offers 12 individually decorated rooms. With close proximity to nature, golf courses, and hiking trails, Montagne attracts guests who value both comfort and an active lifestyle. In the evening, guests can enjoy dinner at Restaurant Montagne, where local ingredients meet modern flavors in a historic setting – and the day begins with a breakfast full of organic and locally produced ingredients.
In addition to fitness opportunities and culinary experiences, Hotel Montagne offers access to some of Sweden’s most scenic destinations. Many guests are drawn to golfing at Askersunds Golf Club, one of the country’s most beautiful courses overlooking Lake Vättern, praised by Golf Digest. Here, challenging play is combined with breathtaking nature – regardless of skill level. For those who prefer hiking, Tiveden National Park awaits, or a swim at Hargebaden – also known as the Riviera of Närke.

“We want our guests to be able to combine relaxation with movement. Gympak’s boxes allow us to offer high-quality training and relaxation without compromising our environmental profile,” says Elin Örnfjäll, Hotel Manager at Montagne.
Gympak’s Equipment Boxes include a yoga mat, medicine ball, resistance bands, foam roller, and ab wheel – a complete set for training on the guest’s terms. The equipment makes it easy to exercise comfortably in the room or outdoors close to nature. The boxes are elegantly designed and can be placed in selected rooms, suites, or as part of a wellness package, with no need for a gym.
“Hotel Montagne is a perfect example of how historical charm and modern lifestyle can be combined. We’re proud to be part of their investment in health and sustainability,” says Jone Sølvik, CEO of Gympak.

With its focus on health, sustainability, and local development, Hotel Montagne takes another step toward becoming a natural hub for active guests by Lake Vättern.
