American Hyatt has over 1300 hotels worldwide. One of them is located on Riddargatan in Stockholm. A boutique hotel with extra everything, says Story’s CEO Staffan Åkerlind. For some years now, the small Swedish chain of 3 hotels has been part of the Hyatt family.
Staffan does not want to give exact figures, but a large proportion of the hotel’s guests are business travelers and tourists from North America. What the hotel has seen clearly is that guests choose them because the hotel not only offers unique rooms in the best location but also good health options such as a very good restaurant, with predominantly vegan and vegetarian menu, in the house and a 3000 square meter gym very close to the hotel where all guests can work out for free.
Our guests also love that we are a little more hip and gritty than they may be used to at Hyatt and that we offer them the best restaurants in the area,” says General Manager Tia Tuhkunden, who has been with the hotel for almost two years.
The hotel in Östermalm has 83 unique rooms in 11 different categories and is a popular destination for those with the highest level of Hyatt loyalty. This means that the most frequent Hyatt travelers like to visit Stockholm.
– We want to impress all our guests and deliver something they have not yet experienced on their other trips, says Staffan and continues; We saw Gympak and thought that this would be the piece of the puzzle that would make our guests say even more wow.
The hotel has purchased a large number of packages that will be offered to hotel guests from April onwards.

Story Hotels is the first in the Hyatt group to offer this type of service, Staffan believes.
